We welcome Lorenza Sebasti Pallanti to Del Posto to share her knowledge and passion for Ama & the Chianti Classico region. Lorenza will bring us an owner’s perspective of the estate and its vintages. Del Posto’s executive Chef, Melissa J. Rodriguez, has crafted a menu to pair with the exciting wines of Castello di Ama.
Castello di Ama can trace its existence back to 998 A.D but according to wine critic Antonio Galoni, “quality winemaking on the premises is a more recent event, as the real leap into wine stardom occurred only with the arrival of Lorenza, and winemaker Marco Pallanti.” The Chianti Classico & “Super Tuscans” being cultivated from Castello di Ama are some of the best wines being produced in Italy today. Lorenza and Marco’s unwavering commitment to sangiovese as Italy’s signature grape only augments the wines themselves.
Some might argue that Chianti Classico is the most under-appreciated fine wine region in the world, and that its development potential is massive. Lorenza, Marco and Castello di Ama are on the forefront of bringing Chianti into the modern fine wine market.
